Our Mission

At Rackerhayes Preschool, we believe that every child deserves a nurturing, stimulating environment where they can grow, learn, and thrive. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space where children aged 2-4 can explore, play, and develop through hands-on activities and social interaction.

We create a warm, open atmosphere where children feel safe to explore, make friends, and develop confidence in their abilities. Through free play and guided group activities, we help children develop the social, emotional, and practical skills they need.

Our Approach

Rackerhayes Preschool operates as an open hall environment, rather than traditional classrooms. This unique structure allows children to mingle freely, choose their activities, and interact with peers of different ages.

Our daily routine is designed to balance freedom with structure:

• Morning: Free play time where children can explore arts and crafts, building activities, and imaginative play at their own pace
• Afternoon: Group activities led by our professional staff, including stories, songs, games, and collaborative projects
• Throughout the day: Access to our multiple outside play areas, including a sensory den and mud kitchen, for fresh air and physical activity

This approach allows children to learn through play while developing important social skills, creativity, and independence in a supportive environment.

Our Environment

Our open hall design creates a spacious, flexible environment where children can move freely and engage in various activities. The space is set up with different areas for arts and crafts, quiet activities, building, and imaginative play.

We have multiple outside play areas that children can access throughout the day, including a sensory den and mud kitchen, providing opportunities for fresh air, physical activity, and sensory exploration.

In the morning, our cafe offers a variety of healthy snacks including biscuits, fresh fruit, water, and milk, ensuring children are well-nourished throughout their day.

Safety is our top priority. We maintain a secure, clean environment with age-appropriate materials and equipment, ensuring that children can explore and learn with confidence. Our professional, trained staff are always on hand to support and guide children in their activities.

Practical Information

Ages: We welcome children aged 2 to 4 years old.

Funding: We accept funded hours for eligible families. For non-funded hours, our rate is £5 per hour. We work with families to create flexible arrangements that suit their needs.

Uniform: Uniform is not required but is available at very affordable prices. Many families choose to have their children wear uniform as it helps children look smart and feel part of the group.
